Exactly the Same / Totally Different

If you've watched the TV show called 無敵鐵金剛, you might know the rules of this activity.

Aim: general review of vocabulary

Materials: Pieces of paper or wipe-off board/cards

Step: (Totally Different)

  1. Divide the Ss into two(or more) teams.
  2. Pass out the wipe-off cards to the Ss, one for each.
  3. Tell the Ss to write what the teacher asks them to write
      Remind them that they should write it on their own(w/o discussion.)
      Each Student should only write down one answer.
  4. All players show their cards to the teacher and the team gets points according to the number of different answers.
  5. The team with most points wins.

Note: Before declare the points each team will get on a round, the teacher may warn and allow the Ss to change their answers. 
(Make sure the Ss don't have a chance to see the others' answer before the points they get are declared.)

e.g.

T: Please write down a way of transportation.

S1: car S2: car S3: truck S4: scooter S5: van

(Ss show their answers only to the teacher.)

T: Two(or some) of you have written the same answer. [but don't mention who they are]
      [in this case, the teacher may also tell them that the repeated word is made of three letters.]
T: You have one chance to change your answers if you want to. Go!

(Ss decide if they want to rewrite an answer down.)

S1: truck S2: helicopter S3: truck S4: scooter S5: ship

T: Ok! You'll get 4 points.
(Have the Ss read the answers and also tell them what they wrote before changing the answer.)
